Beef Bend Road Culvert

Project Description

Two culverts, near SW 146th Avenue under SW Beef Bend Road, failed in December 2015 and again in December 2016.

The two culverts will be replaced with a single concrete arch culvert. This project includes installation of a sidewalk on the north side of the road, completing sidewalk connectivity between 146th Avenue and Westminster Drive. Sidewalks ramps at 146th Avenue will be updated to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This project also includes installation of a section of waterline for the city of Tigard.

An eight-week road closure is expected during construction. Detour maps for the planned closure are available in "Design" section of this page.

SW Beef Bend Road, between SW Roy Rogers and Hwy 99W, will be open to local traffic only during the closure. Beef Bend Road, between 146th Avenue and the Oak Mont Apartments entrance, will be closed to all traffic.

Pedestrians with mobility needs who travel between 146th Avenue and the Oak Mont Apartment entrance will need to contact Washington County for an escort during construction.

Clean Water Services will install sanitary sewer force main along Beef Bend Road in 2018, prior to the culvert replacement.

Funding Information

The $2.5 million project will be funded through the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief Program and the County's Road Fund.
