Activity Update 8/20/2020: Butner Road will remain closed through Sept. 1 due to unforeseen project delays. All vehicles must continue to use the signed detour.

Activity Update 5/15/2020: Visit the Butner Road Culvert Online Kickoff through May 28 to learn about the culvert replacement and anticipated traffic impacts.
Activity Update 5/4/2020: Overhead utility companies are relocating lines and removing two abandoned power poles in preparation for a summer culvert replacement.
An online kickoff will begin May 15.
Activity Update 3/8/2019: Selected trees are being removed on Butner Road, between 126th Avenue and the west church entrance in preparation for relocation of overhead utility lines before construction.
Activity Update 12/10/2018: Project scope has been updated to include sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of Butner Road in the vicinity of the culvert replacement. Additionally, a crosswalk with a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon will be installed on Butner Road at SW 126th Avenue.
Construction is now scheduled to occur in the summer of 2020 with a four-week road closure for vehicles; pedestrian and bike access will be maintained.
Activity Update 6/5/2018: Construction is being delayed until summer 2019 due to right-of-way acquisition. Project design continues.

Activity update 5/19/2017: Washington County and Clean Water Services will host a meeting 7-8:30 p.m. May 24 to discuss proposed Butner Road culvert replacement and a request for a pedestrian crossing. Event invitation
Activity update 1/27/2017: Washington County and Clean Water Services are conducting a study of upstream and downstream effects of design options. Project is on hold until definitive results are reviewed and an appropriate design can be determined.
Activity update 11/17/16: This project is currently in the design phase. Construction is anticipated to occur during the summer of 2017. SW Butner is expected to be closed for about three weeks while the new culvert is installed.
