Cornelius Pass Road (Frances Street to TV Highway)

Cornelius Pass logoProject Information

Cornelius Pass Road north of TV Highway (OR 8) experiences just over 16,000 vehicle trips a day, with peak hours reaching 1,200 vehicles. With development planned south of TV Highway, which will include extending Cornelius Pass Road south to Rosedale Road, the remaining three-lane section of Cornelius Pass Road, between TV Highway and U.S. 26, will experience heavier traffic.

This project will widen Cornelius Pass Road, between TV Highway and Frances Street, to five lanes. The project will also add a dedicated right turn lane, from westbound TV Highway to northbound Cornelius Pass Road, bicycle facilities, sidewalks and street lights.

The Cornelius Pass Road project is coordinating with the Willamette Water Supply Program pipeline installation. The Willamette Water Supply Program, a partnership between Tualatin Valley Water District and the city of Hillsboro to build an additional regional water supply system in Washington County, will be constructing a 48-inch drinking water pipeline in conjunction with road improvements.

Visit the city of Hillsboro's South Hillsboro website for more details about plans for the South Hillsboro area, including the extension of Cornelius Pass Road and plans for other roadways adjacent to the South Hillsboro area.

Funding Information

This $17.1 million project is funded through the MSTIP Bonding Cost-sharing Program. Two-thirds of the cost will be funded by the County and one-third will be funded by Hillsboro. The total project cost includes the estimated cost of design, right-of-way and construction and is subject to change.
