Main Street and Banks - Cedar Canyon Road Intersection
About this project
We are realigning the intersection and installing a traffic signal at the Main Street (Nehalem Highway OR-47) and Banks-Cedar Canyon Road intersection to address capacity issues anticipated with future development and growth in east Banks. This project is identified in the City of Banks Transportation System Plan.
The project team evaluated both a traffic signal and a roundabout. Impacts to commercial and residential properties and impacts to wetlands were considered. A traffic signal was selected by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the County as the best alternative.
Construction start (expected): May 2022
Construction finish (expected): March 2023
Update 7/12/2021: The project is coordinating construction dates with an Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) bridge replacement project and with Martin Road Project.
