Health Benefits

Washington County offers medical, dental and vision coverage to you and your eligible family members. The Benefit Guide will give you more information about how your coverage works and any restrictions that apply.

Summary

For medical coverage, you can choose between Providence (PPO) or Kaiser (HMO) medical plans. We offer dental coverage through Delta Dental or Kaiser Dental and vision coverage through Vision Service Plan (VSP).

Generally, Washington County pays 90% of the premium for health benefit coverage. However, we offer employees the opportunity to qualify for the Wellness Incentive—a lower employee premium share on medical, dental and vision coverage when you complete certain wellness activities throughout the year.

Health benefits are effective on the first of the month following employment.
