Visitors to downtown Hillsboro have likely noticed the enormous crane perched above Washington County's Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building, which is undergoing a seismic retrofit project to withstand a major earthquake.

Due to construction, many Health and Human Services staff and programs will be moving over the next several months. The first round of moves takes place the week of April 9-13, 2018.

The following programs will be temporarily located at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s former building at 20665 SW Blanton Street in Aloha.

  • Children, Youth and Families
  • HHS Director's Office
  • Several Public Health programs including Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Medical Services and the Medical Examiners Program
  • Solid Waste & Recycling

All phone, fax and email addresses will remain the same. Business hours will still be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

This summer, Environmental Health, Vital Records, and Disease Control and Prevention will temporarily move to the 1890 Building, located at 180 E. Main Street in downtown Hillsboro.

This fall, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will move to the Public Services Annex at 254 N. First Avenue in downtown Hillsboro.

More information will be released about the second and third rounds of moves as they draw closer. Community members can stay up to date by visiting www.co.washington.or.us/HHS/move.cfm.

The County expects the retrofit to be completed by mid-2019.
