CDC Eviction Moratorium Ended August 26: Oregon’s state-wide eviction moratorium ended on June 30, 2021. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) extended the eviction moratorium end date to October 3, but on August 26 the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the extension, ending the eviction moratorium. We encourage County residents to use this extended opportunity to apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance program.
COVID-19 Rent Assistance Programs and Eviction Protections: In 2021, Washington County has provided tenants and landlords with the opportunity to receive assistance with past due rent through two programs: the U.S. Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance program and the state-funded Landlord Compensation Fund (LCF applications closed in June 2021). Visit our COVID-19 Updates and Programs page for detailed information on eviction protections, or view this overview document (English, Spanish) about tenant rights, rent assistance, and going to court.
