Public Works Week is May 19-25

Public Works Week celebrates the professionals, infrastructure, facilities and services that keep our communities running.
Media release

May 19-25 was proclaimed Public Works Week by the Washington County Board of Commissioners at its Tuesday (May 7) meeting. The proclamation supports work performed by public works staff in the Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT).

Organized by the American Public Works Association, Public Works Week celebrates the professionals, infrastructure, facilities and services that keep our communities running. Public works agencies nationwide are celebrating this year’s theme “Advancing Quality of Life for All.”

From transportation to water management and solid waste systems, our public works crews and those who support them help shape healthy communities. Our staff plan, design, build and maintain the County’s transportation system.

The community can celebrate Public Works Week with us at our family-friendly Public Works Fair from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in Beaverton City Park next to Beaverton Farmers Market. Win prizes, learn about our projects and meet public works employees.
