185th Avenue Paving Scheduled for the Week of May 14 – Expect Delays
Media release

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, May 09, 2012

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation

Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation plans to pave 185th Avenue between West Union Road and Westview High School the week of May 14. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the work area during paving hours.

The paving schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, May 14 – 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 15 - 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 16 - 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 17 - 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, May 18 - 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This work is weather dependent and conditions must be appropriate for paving to occur. If the weather forecast changes for any part of the week, the paving work will be postponed.

During paving, one lane of traffic in each direction will generally remain open on 185th Avenue. The traffic signals at West Union Road and Westview High School will need to be shut down during this work, but flaggers will route traffic through as quickly as possible. The public’s patience is greatly appreciated.
